All great questions. I rarely go beyond page 1 on google and where the market is trending - those few spots are going to cost companies to be able to have them. HOWEVER: A solution I propose is to increase the revenue for google by using 1-4 of those slots on the first page as interchangeable. At any time there could be a list of 100 vendors who pay a smaller monthly and fee to have their name pop up on the first page 1 out of 100 searches (very similar to how amazon provides for their manufacturers.

I usually review results until page 2 but rarely. If I were to have my own website, yes I would love to see my website on the 1st google ranking page. I think a search engine friendly website will be very helpful, especially for those that are not really tech savvy. Yes, SEO would be a great help to businesses especially start-up ones. It adds leverage to their marketing strategy and edge to their competitor.

When searching for specific answers, I do not always rely on initial search results. I assume that an optimized answer may not always be the best answer. However, if I am a SME in a given field or a small business/services provider, it would seem obvious I would want my "best solution/service/answer" to a search to be optimized for top results and 1st page access.

In terms of the survey itself, VALUE is most important, but not at any price. And a sample portfolio is needed. If the website is unique in terms of content and hashtags, then it should be at or near the top of Page 1 on Google search. Most people will not go beyond Page 1 unless it is a difficult to find or obscure search item.

I would say that it is essential for Small Businesses today, as most of the people will decide for those on the first or the second search page. Also it is very important to show properly on google maps for those who provide direct costumer services, like shops, restaurants, other amenities or like. SEO indeed sould be a part of any new company setup strategy.

Yes, I go as far as page 2 but not often. Yes, being on position #1 is great, but there's a new trend for position #0 in SERPs. Search engine friendly sites certainly help as things like load speed, page bounce rates, time spent, etc. are all engagement indicators that can affect overall site ranking in search results. Yes - all businesses can benefit from a solid SEO execution -- but the tactics will differ between a local business and a national company.

I will go beyond page 1 if the search results are cluttered with sites that aren't relevant or specific enough, for example looking for an apartment community but all the results are all Trulia and Zillow, not direct websites. The answer to all the questions except the first one is of course a big YES! I do occasionally have visit the next pages when I know what I'm looking for and cannot find it on the first page, but that is a very rare phenomenon. Most of the times, people do not know what they're looking for and are hence likely to presume that the best match lies somewhere among the highest ranked results. And this is exactly why the answer to all your subsequent questions is "Yes."

I rarely go past page 1 on a google search. As for my own website, because we are not focused on driving traffic to the site, having it optimized for searches would be of no benefit to us. Of course there is always merit in SEO for sites that are either consumer facing or are enterprise driven; depending on how well optimized the page is to leverage that traffic once in the funnel.

I rarely go beyond page 1. But it's safe to say that majority don't go to page 2 which means it's very important to be on page 1 of Google results to keep the organic traffic and searchable keywords up. SEO is very helpful for any company that has a website irrespective of their company size. Of course, it's not easy to compete with deeper wallets but a good SEO in the backend/frontend does come up on page 1 beating bigger players. I've done it many times :-)

I personally do not go beyond the first page unless I know exactly the answer I'm looking for. When I work on client websites for SEO, our biggest goal is to have at least 60% of localized keywords within the first page of search results. Basic packages for SEO would definitely help small businesses get off the ground in terms of search results. They need to do a lot of research and make sure what keywords and locations they most would come up for in search for as well as where they want to target. Custom content is highly necessary and adding a small package for content and SEO work would do wonders for any website.
